#604PhotoWalk: The first of many.

As mentioned in my previous post (which can be found HERE), I have a soft spot for street photography.

So garnering a bit of interest on twitter, Tomasz Wagner (of www.mananetwork.net) and I rounded up a group of like minded photography enthusiasts to spend the day walking about town. Aside from a few minor logistical glitches, which worked themselves out in the end, the day was a big success that included random interludes of playground tag (seriously!) and a penchant for social conversation.

I hope you enjoy these photos even half as much as I enjoyed our first of many epic photo walks.

One of these things is not like the other.

Having crossed this bridge numerous times on foot, I had never noticed this plaque until now. Perhaps it’s because my strolls usually occur at night when it is much easier to miss.

Photo walk crew members Irv Lau, Vince Chow (of www.vincechow.ca) and Tomasz Wagner (of www.mananetwork.net).

An impromptu pose.

Bikes waiting to be rented out.

The critical eye of a seasoned photographer.

Tianna Kwong (of www.tiannakwong.com) with her unique camera strap.

A glassed in design.

Stumbling across the playground under the Cambie Street Bridge our group got hung up waiting for fresh faces. Some were a little more free spirited than others.

This was also where we broke out into a spontaneous session of tag.

Meandering our way around False Creek we joined up with a few more people at Sun Yat Sen Gardens.

A momentary derp from Cicy Chan (of www.cicychan.com).

Like a portal to an alternate (and more vivid) reality.

Leaving Chinatown we migrated towards Gastown.

Amy Tran
also made an appearance.

Ponderously contemplating how one would scale a wall covered in razor wire.

Perhaps one of my favourite portraits from this collection.

Brian Shaler
also stopped by to snap a few photos.

A thoughtful plea contrasted by a scathing retort.

Tony Dang
graced us with his good humoured presence.

A quiet moment with a symbol of home.

A reflection of part of our group.

A rooftop vista of Downtown Vancouver.

And as always, Thank You (Stranger).

My sincerest gratitude goes to Tomasz Wagner for his unrelenting tutelage without which I would be all but lost in this hobby.
